Process-Oriented Smart Adsorbents: Tailoring the Properties Dynamically as Demanded by Adsorption/Desorption

Yao Jiang et al.

Summary: Adsorptive separation is crucial in various industries, but the requirements for adsorbents differ during adsorption and desorption processes. To address this challenge, the development of process-oriented smart adsorbents (POSAs) that dynamically adjust pore structures and surface properties is essential for enhancing efficiency in adsorption and desorption simultaneously.

High acidity-and radiation-resistant triazine-based POPs for recovery of Pd(II) from nuclear fission products

Xiangyang Yuan et al.

Summary: The new cationic pyridyl triazine polymeric network (CPTPN) was successfully designed and synthesized for efficient recovery of Pd(II) from high-level radioactive liquid waste (HLLW). The adsorption capacity of CPTPN for palladium reached a record high level in 6 M HNO3, demonstrating excellent thermal and irradiation stability, as well as high reusability. The selectivity of CPTPN for Pd(II) was found to be excellent in simulated HLLW, with the ability to selectively recover palladium even in high acidity conditions.
