A pH-responsive complex based on supramolecular organic framework for drug-resistant breast cancer therapy

Yun-Chang Zhang et al.

Summary: This study developed a new pH-responsive supramolecular organic framework drug delivery complex for the treatment of drug-resistant cancer. The system exhibited high stability, good biocompatibility, and pH-regulated drug release. Both in vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrated that the system enhanced the anti-tumor activity of the drug. These findings inspire further exploration of new drug delivery strategies and reversal of multidrug resistance in clinical chemotherapy.

Surfactant-induced chirality transfer, amplification and inversion in a cucurbit[8]uril-viologen host-guest supramolecular system

Hui Xu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the mechanism of chirality transfer, amplification, and inversion in a ternary supramolecular system, finding that achiral SDS molecules facilitate the transformation of chirality from the molecular to the supramolecular level. Precise regulation of component quantities in the ternary supramolecular structure can lead to significant chirality inversion.

CB[7]- and CB[8]-Based [2]-(Pseudo)rotaxanes with Triphenylphosphonium-Capped Threads: Serendipitous Discovery of a New High-Affinity Binding Motif

Iago Neira et al.

Summary: New triphenylphosphonium-capped cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7])- and cucurbit[8]uril (CB[8])-based [2]rotaxanes were successfully synthesized using a simultaneous threading-capping strategy. However, attempts to obtain the CB[8] analogue were unsuccessful due to unexpected strong interaction between the host and the phosphonium caps.

Adaptive Chirality of an Achiral Cucurbit[8]uril-Based Supramolecular Organic Framework for Chirality Induction in Water

Yawen Li et al.

Summary: Achiral supramolecular organic framework (SOF-1) can exhibit adaptive chirality induced by specific compounds in water, leading to mirror-image circular dichroism and circularly polarized luminescence. This adaptive chirality can be utilized for determining the enantiopurity of amino acids and distinguishing biological chiral macromolecules.
