Summary: Sexual and gender minority populations in Kenya face systemic discrimination and human rights violations, with experiences of violence related to higher levels of depressive symptoms and post-traumatic stress symptoms. Social support was found to have a mitigating effect on post-traumatic stress symptoms.

Belonging, Citizenship and Ambivalence among Young Gay, Bisexual and Queer Indian Singaporean Men

Summary: This study explores the attitudes and experiences of young ethnic Indian GBQ men in Singapore, revealing feelings of racialized liminality and marginality, tensions between personal desires and family pressures, and strategies taken in response to complex marginalization. Participants expressed frustration with societal and sexual racism, a ambivalent sense of belonging, and desires for emigration to alleviate conflicting responsibilities to themselves and their families.
