Ruthenium-catalyzed decarbonylative addition reaction of anhydrides with alkynes: a facile synthesis of isocoumarins and alpha-pyrones

A novel ruthenium catalyzed straightforward and efficient synthesis of isocoumarin and alpha-pyrone derivatives has been accomplished by the decarbonylative addition reaction of anhydrides with alkynes under thermal conditions.
