Health Care for Refugees in Europe: A Scoping Review

Anna Christina Nowak et al.

Summary: Refugees and asylum seekers in high-income European countries face major challenges in accessing and using health care due to legal, linguistic, administrative, and knowledge barriers. There is a high prevalence of barriers in access to health care for refugee populations, leading to underusage, misuse of health care, and higher costs. More attention needs to be paid to the living situations of refugees for improved access to care.
