Applicability of the diffusion of innovation theory to accelerate model-based systems engineering adoption

Summary: Systems engineering is an interdisciplinary field that can benefit from incorporating research from social sciences. The diffusion of innovation theory can accelerate the adoption rate of innovations, including model-based systems engineering (MBSE) which has not been widely adopted. Evaluating the attributes of MBSE using the diffusion of innovation theory can help understand its slow diffusion and find ways to accelerate its adoption.
