Road traffic accidental injuries and deaths: A neglected global health issue

Summary: Traffic accidents across the world are a major health concern, resulting in 1.35 million deaths or disabilities annually. In 2019, 93% of road traffic injury-related mortality occurred in low- and middle-income countries, causing an estimated 1.3 million deaths. By 2030, road traffic injuries are projected to become the seventh leading cause of death globally. This report emphasizes the need for preventive measures, safety rules, and management strategies to address this growing public health issue.

A cross-sectional survey: knowledge, attitudes, and practices of self-medication in medical and pharmacy students

Summary: This study assessed the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of medical and pharmacy students towards self-medication. The majority of students had good knowledge of self-medication, with pharmacy students having significantly higher knowledge than medical students. Self-medication was widely practiced among the students, with pain killers being the most commonly used medication.
