A comparative study of three stomatal conductance models for estimating evapotranspiration in a dune ecosystem in a semi-arid region

Yongzhi Bao et al.

Summary: Accurately simulating stomatal conductance is crucial for understanding carbon and water cycle processes and improving evapotranspiration simulations. This study found that the SW-BB model performed better in estimating evapotranspiration in a mobile dune ecosystem, especially during extreme drought periods. Incorporating soil moisture into stomatal conductance models significantly improved performance, with SM showing the highest sensitivity to stomatal conductance and evapotranspiration.

Methods to estimate evapotranspiration in humid and subtropical climate conditions

Dinesh Kumar Vishwakarma et al.

Summary: Selecting appropriate reference evapotranspiration (ETo) methods is crucial for managing water resources efficiently. This study evaluated thirty empirical ETo models and found that radiation-based models demonstrated higher accuracy in predicting ETo compared to temperature-based and mass transfer-based models. Among the tested models, the FAO56-PM method performed the best.

Application of the METRIC model for mapping evapotranspiration over the Sundarban Biosphere Reserve, India

Ismail Mondal et al.

Summary: This study utilizes the METRIC model to estimate the spatial distribution of daily evapotranspiration in the Sundarban Biosphere Reserve in India. The results show that forests and water bodies have the highest evapotranspiration rates, while croplands have the lowest rates. The use of satellite imagery validates the accuracy of the METRIC model and highlights its significance in water conservation and evapotranspiration estimation using satellite technology.

Liping Wang et al.

Summary: Evapotranspiration models have been widely studied for outdoor plants, forests, and wetlands, but research on models for controlled environment agriculture (CEA) is limited. Reliable predictions of ET in CEA are crucial for assessing the performance of CEA systems. This review evaluates existing ET models for indoor estimation, addresses key influencing factors and calibration methods, and emphasizes the need for further research on ET parameter interdependence and validation for indoor farming.
