Who Is Afraid of Monkeypox? Analysis of Psychosocial Factors Associated with the First Reactions of Fear of Monkeypox in the Italian Population

Knowledge, Attitude, Practice, and Fear of COVID-19: an Online-Based Cross-cultural Study

Summary: This study aimed to assess the knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) and fear level towards COVID-19 among the general population in 8 different countries across 5 continents. The study found significant variations in knowledge scores among different regions, gender groups, marital statuses, and education qualifications. Fear scores also varied across regions. However, there was no correlation between fear and knowledge. The findings suggest that health education programs should consider sociodemographic factors and regional differences to promote a positive attitude and good practices during outbreaks of highly contagious diseases.

Unpacking trust: The Italian validation of the Epistemic Trust, Mistrust, and Credulity Questionnaire (ETMCQ)

Summary: This study aimed to validate the Epistemic Trust, Mistrust, and Credulity Questionnaire (ETMCQ) in an Italian sample and explore the influence of age, gender, and education level on epistemic trust. The results showed that epistemic trust was associated with psychological well-being and childhood traumatic experiences. The ETMCQ is a convenient and effective tool that could lead to interesting clinical and theoretical findings.

The application of the sex-positive approach to the BPS model may bring more focus on individual needs, values, and desires, as well as provide new knowledge and understanding of sexuality in a broader spectrum, including diversities and pleasures.

Development and validation of a self-report measure of epistemic trust
