Decoding the role of macrophages in periodontitis and type 2 diabetes using single-cell RNA-sequencing

Differential non-coding RNAs expression profiles of invasive and non-invasive pituitary adenomas

Summary: The study revealed increased expression levels of miR-200a and lncRNA ANRIL in tissue samples of patients with invasive PA compared to non-invasive PA. Additionally, circulating miR-200a and lncRNA ANRIL levels were elevated in patients with invasive PA pre-operation, but decreased post-operation. These findings suggest potential diagnostic and therapeutic value of miR-200a and lncRNA ANRIL in invasive PA.

The identification of lncRNAs as key regulators in health and disease has led to the initiation of hundreds of clinical trials in oncourology, aiming to utilize lncRNAs as new biomarkers or treatments. Despite the potential for lncRNAs to serve as innovative therapeutic agents, their use in modern clinical practice is currently limited by pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical challenges.
