Investigating path dependence and spatial characteristics for retail success using location allocation and agent-based approaches

Jiaxin Zhang et al.

Summary: This research develops a retail-competition agent-based model (RC-ABM) to improve our understanding of commercial land use and competition. The model is tested using empirical research on consumer expenditures and retail location selection in Ontario, Canada, and shows a high level of alignment with a traditional Location-Allocation Model (LAM) in estimating market capture and store revenue acquisition.

Summary: Intelligent logistics is crucial for innovative retail, as it can reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance service levels. This study highlights the importance of decoupling and establishing correlations in modeling the retail road network traffic flow. Deep learning and fusion methods are recommended to optimize the modeling process.
