Active surveillance as a management option for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia 2: An online experimental study

Rachael H. Dodd et al.

Summary: The study found that for the management of CIN2, most women of childbearing age tend to prefer active surveillance over surgery. Participants who had not yet had children, planned to have children in the future, had no family history of cancer or endometriosis, had adequate health literacy, and trusted their GP were more likely to choose active surveillance. Conversely, those who were more predisposed to seek health care for minor problems were less likely to choose active surveillance.

Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and the risk of spontaneous preterm birth: A Dutch population-based cohort study with 45,259 pregnancy outcomes

Diede L. Loopik et al.

Summary: This study found a strong correlation between a volume of >= 0.5 cc excised cervical tissue and the odds of preterm birth, regardless of the severity of CIN. Caution should be taken when performing multiple biopsies or treatment for CIN in women of reproductive age, who may benefit from close surveillance during pregnancy.

Trend analysis of process quality indicators for the Korean National Cervical Cancer Screening Program from 2005 to 2013

Cam Nhung Bui et al.

Summary: The study examined changes in quality indicators of the Korean National Cancer Screening Program for cervical cancer from 2005 to 2013. Participation rates showed a significant increasing trend, while most quality indicators improved from 2005 to 2009 and remained stable. Medical Aid recipients and women older than 70 years had lower participation rates but higher detection rates and interval cancer rates compared to other groups.
