Altered Functional Activity and Functional Connectivity of Seed Regions Based on ALFF Following Acupuncture Treatment in Patients with Stroke Sequelae with Unilateral Limb Numbness

Jing Peng et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effects of acupuncture on post-stroke limb numbness and its mechanism. The findings showed that stroke patients had significantly decreased amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations (ALFF) in several brain regions related to the sensorimotor network (SMN) and default mode network (DMN). Acupuncture treatment activated sensorimotor-related brain regions and enhanced functional connectivity (FC) between the left supramarginal gyrus (SMG) and right middle temporal gyrus (MTG), as well as other brain regions, which correlated with clinical outcomes.

The mechanism of electroacupuncture for treating spinal cord injury rats by mediating Rho/Rho-associated kinase signaling pathway

En-si Hong et al.

Summary: By using electroacupuncture and/or blocking agent Y27632 treatment, the protein and mRNA expression levels of RhoA and ROCKII in SCI rats can be significantly reduced, improving spinal cord tissue morphology and increasing the BBB score for lower limb movement function.

Acupuncture for Primary Dysmenorrhea: A Potential Mechanism from an Anti-Inflammatory Perspective

Wen-Yan Yu et al.

Summary: Acupuncture has low adverse effects for primary dysmenorrhea (PD) and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects that are helpful in managing menstrual cramps. Further research is needed to clarify the effects of acupuncture on proinflammatory factors in PD and optimize its clinical modalities. In addition to acupuncture, the effects and mechanism of more convenient self-healing approaches such as TENS/TEAS for PD should be investigated.

Effect of ganglioside combined with Chip Jiaji electro-acupuncture on Nogo-NgR signal pathway in SCI rats

Hongfeng Hu et al.

Summary: The combination of ganglioside and Jiaji electroacupuncture has been shown to improve nerve function recovery in SCI rats, possibly through inhibiting the expression of proinflammatory cytokines and the Nogo-NgR signal pathway.

Neuroplasticity of Acupuncture for Stroke: An Evidence-Based Review of MRI

Jinhuan Zhang et al.

Summary: Acupuncture is recognized as an effective treatment for stroke rehabilitation, with researchers actively investigating its therapeutic mechanisms. Studies have shown that acupuncture affects neuroplasticity in stroke patients through MRI technique. The focus is on the evidence of acupuncture therapy regulating brain plasticity mechanisms in treating stroke.
