Structural, optical and antimicrobial characteristics of ZnO green nanoparticles

Lubna Tabassam et al.

Summary: In this study, green-synthesized zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-GNPs) with different concentrations of zinc acetate dehydrate were successfully synthesized using the sol-gel method. The ZnO-GNPs exhibited a hexagonal unit cell structure, and their size increased with increasing concentration of zinc acetate dehydrate. The bandgap of ZnO-GNPs also increased with increasing concentration. Moreover, the ZnO-GNPs showed strong antibacterial activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

Evaluation of Efficacy of Cassia renigera Leaf Extract Mediated ZnO Nanoparticles as Nano Fertilizer for Cauliflower Plant

Khadeeja Parveen et al.

Summary: The present study demonstrates a cost-effective and environmentally friendly method for synthesizing Zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) using Cassia renigera leaf extract (CRLE). The synthesized CRLE: ZnO NPs exhibited hexagonal crystallinity and non-uniform grain distribution without agglomeration. They also showed inhibitory effects on the cauliflower pathogen Xanthomonas campestris pv campestris (Xcc) and promoted plant metabolism. The introduction of CRLE: ZnO NPs in cauliflower seeds improved the growth parameters as compared to bare seeds.
