Landslide susceptibility mapping using automatically constructed CNN architectures with pre-slide topographic DEM of deep-seated catastrophic landslides caused by Typhoon Talas

Teruyuki Kikuchi et al.

Summary: There is a growing demand for detailed and accurate landslide maps and inventories in disaster-prone areas, particularly in Asia. In this study, high-performing convolutional neural network models were used for landslide detection and susceptibility mapping in the Kii peninsula, Japan. The models showed higher accuracy in predicting landslides spatially compared to initial models, and the susceptibility mapping was consistent with the unique characteristics of the study area.

Landslide susceptibility mapping using CNN-1D and 2D deep learning algorithms: comparison of their performance at Asir Region, KSA

Ahmed M. Youssef et al.

Summary: This study compares the accuracy of support vector machine, one-dimensional convolutional neural network, and two-dimensional convolutional neural network models in landslide susceptibility mapping in the Asir Region, Saudi Arabia. The experimental results show that the CNN-1D and CNN-2D models are more accurate than the conventional machine learning model (SVM) in predicting landslide spatial distribution, with CNN-2D model performing the best.

Landslide Susceptibility Assessment by Using Convolutional Neural Network

Shahrzad Nikoobakht et al.

Summary: This study conducted a GIS-based landslide susceptibility assessment in northeastern Iran using a convolutional neural network (CNN), identifying geomorphologic/topographic and water condition parameters as the main triggering factors. The results showed that the CNN model outperformed other classifiers in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score.
