Potentially Inadequate Medications in the Elderly: PRISCUS 2.0

Summary: The PRISCUS list, published in 2010, is a catalogue of potentially inadequate medication (PIM) for the elderly in the German drug market. In a three-round Delphi process, experts evaluated and expanded the list to include 187 substances. The new PRISCUS list should now be validated and its feasibility in routine use verified.

Trends and patterns in EU(7)-PIM prescribing to elderly patients in Germany

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the patterns and long-term development of prescribing potentially inappropriate medications to elderly patients in Germany. The results showed a reduction in the prevalence of EU(7)-PIM from 2009 to 2019, with factors such as polypharmacy, gender, age, and region being associated with PIM prescribing. Prescriber specialty was found to be the most significant factor in the analysis.

Anticholinergic burden measures and older people's falls risk: a systematic prognostic review
