The different metal ions substitution cobalt ferrites were successfully synthesized by auto-combustion using used batteries as raw materials. Using TG technology to analyze ferrites precursor, we can confirm that the nitrate was more suited in auto-combustion route. XRD technology analysis proves existence of the spinel structure and Fourier transform infrared spectra (IR) identified the presence of functional groups of precursor and ferrites powder. The changing of magnetic properties reveals that different substitution concentration and species influences the crystallite size, magnetic moment, super-exchange and direction deflection of magnetic domain. High values of magntetostriction coefficient and saturation magnetization were obtained in Co1-xMxFe2O4 (x=0-0.5, M=Ni Cu Zn) ferrite system recommend such materials for applications in sensors field.
