Spherical mesoporous MnOx nanoparticles were prepared by the thermolysis of a Mn-MOF-74 template. The morphologies of the MnOx nanoparticles were inherited from the Mn-MOF-74 template and the crystal structures of the MnOx particles could be regulated by changing the thermolysis conditions. These porous MnOx nanoparticles were tested as low -temperature selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalysts and they exhibited high activities. The sample prepared at 700 degrees C under a N-2 atmosphere had the largest specific surface area (89.1 m(2)/g) and the highest deNO(x) activity (98% NO conversion) with a N-2 selectivity of almost 100%.
