Similes in Translating Animal Names from Jordanian Spoken Arabic into English

Summary: This study explores how native English speakers conceptualize and translate animal names as figuratively used in Jordanian Arabic into English. The findings reveal that native English speakers prefer the detailed simile type, which includes both the simile feature and element, when translating animal names into English.
