Seismic vulnerability of circular tunnels in sand

Summary: This paper focuses on assessing the seismic fragility curves of circular tunnels under moderate to severe earthquakes to enhance the reliability of risk assessment for underground infrastructural networks. Non-linear dynamic analyses were conducted on different tunnel and soil configurations using the finite-difference method implemented in Flac2D software. The fragility curves showed a satisfying matching with empirical ones based on observed seismic damage on tunnels.
