Machine learning-based random forest for predicting decreased quality of life in thyroid cancer patients after thyroidectomy

Summary: This study aimed to predict decreased quality of life in thyroid cancer patients 3 months after thyroidectomy using a machine learning-based random forest model. The study found that the mean quality of life 3 months post-thyroidectomy was 65.93, with 21.33% experiencing decreased quality of life. The random forest model showed high accuracy with areas under the curve of 0.834 and 0.897 in the training and validation cohorts, respectively.
