Findings revealed that users consume news on Telegram primarily for socialization, information, and increased efficiency, with platform affordances such as customizability, accessibility, aesthetics, and simultaneity playing a role in facilitating this behavior. This research enhances existing literature on user motivations for news consumption on new technologies and demonstrates the integration of an affordance-based framework for studying user behaviors on emerging platforms.
