Gamification and e-learning for young learners: A systematic literature review, bibliometric analysis, and future research agenda

Abhishek Behl et al.

Summary: In recent years, gamification has attracted significant interest in both industry and academia, with a focus primarily on game studies and human-computer interaction. However, there has been a lack of academic works linking game studies to the service or marketing literature. This paper examines the emerging trends of gamification and e-learning for young learners through bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review, identifying key research themes and providing a future research agenda to assist education policymakers and gamification-based software companies and agencies in selecting the most suitable gamification techniques for e-learning.
