Summary: This study examines the roles of board gender and cultural diversities in driving social sustainability practices in the logistics and transportation sector. The results show that female directors and directors with different cultural backgrounds are significant predictors of social sustainability across multiple dimensions. Board structure policies positively moderate the relationship between board gender diversity and social sustainability.

Summary: This study expands the isomorphic logic on the participatory guarantee system (PGS) alternative certification method, aiming to level the supply chain sustainability field by neutralizing the negative effects of stakeholder heterogeneity (SH) through stakeholder alignment, external community constructs, similar backgrounds, and value congruence. The findings suggest that leveraging these factors can help disadvantaged agrifood stakeholders overcome their institutional disadvantages in PGS recognition.

Analysing competing logics towards sustainable supplier management

Summary: This study identified two main logics operating within the Ecuadorian cocoa supply chain SSM process: a commercial logic and a sustainability logic. While these logics address market demand requirements, some local producers' needs impacting SSM remain unexplored, such as the influence of regional ancestral culture that sees sustainability as a dominant logic beyond the triple bottom line. The study found that, of the three SSM sub-processes, supplier development received the most attention from SC managers.
