Lichtheimia ornata is an emerging opportunistic Mucorales pathogen that causes fatal infections in immunocompromised individuals. Although environmentally acquired infections of this pathogen have been rarely reported, cases were recently identified in an analysis of COVID-19-associated mucormycosis in India. In this study, we present the annotated genome sequence of the environmental isolate CBS 291.66.
