Overlap weight and propensity score residual for heterogeneous effects: A review with extensions

Jin-young Choi et al.

Summary: Individual responses to treatment differ depending on covariates. Averaging such heterogeneous effects can be done with density or overlap weight. The use of overlap weight has several advantages, including addressing non-overlapping support, overcoming the too small denominator problem, and robustness in regression adjustment.

Locally Robust Semiparametric Estimation

Victor Chernozhukov et al.

Summary: This article presents a general construction of locally robust/orthogonal moment functions for GMM, which are not affected by the first steps locally. The use of these orthogonal moments can reduce model selection and regularization bias, and the associated standard errors are robust to misspecification when the number of moment functions is the same as the number of parameters of interest.

Instrument residual estimator for any response variable with endogenous binary treatment*

Myoung-jae Lee

Summary: This paper presents a method to estimate treatment effects using instrumental variable estimators and instrumental residual estimators in situations where treatment effects are difficult to determine. Empirical analyses and simulation studies are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of these methods.
