A novel Ni-MoCxOy interfacial catalyst for syngas production via the chemical looping dry reforming of methane

Xiao Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, researchers propose a novel MoCxOy oxygen carrier for syngas production through the chemical looping CH4-CO2 reforming reaction. The combination of molybdenum carbide and nickel particles enables high-selectivity CH4 activation at low temperatures. This is the first study to utilize molybdenum carbide as an oxygen storage material, paving the way for the use of transition metal carbides in chemical looping processes.

Synthesis, characterization, and methanol steam reforming performance for hydrogen production on perovskite-type oxides SrCo1-xCuxO3-δ

Zicheng Shao et al.

Summary: In this study, a series of SrCo1-xCuxO3-delta catalysts were synthesized and characterized. The results revealed that the doping of cobalt and copper, as well as the reaction conditions, have an impact on the catalyst performance. Among the catalysts tested, SrC0.08Cu0.2O3-delta exhibited the highest hydrogen production rate in the MSR process. Additionally, the porous structure, small particle size, and rough surface of the catalyst also contributed to the improved catalytic performance.

Long carrier diffusion length in two-dimensional lead halide perovskite single crystals

Shreetu Shrestha et al.

Summary: In this work, the authors investigated the carrier diffusion length in two-dimensional Ruddlesden-Popper perovskite single crystals using scanning photocurrent microscopy. They observed a long in-plane carrier diffusion length and attributed it to the dominating dissociated free carrier transport. The results suggest that semiconducting devices fabricated from RP perovskite single crystals can be as efficient as their 3D counterparts.

Microwave-assisted catalysis of water-glycerol solutions for hydrogen production over NiO/zeolite catalyst

Husni Husin et al.

Summary: This study utilized glycerol as a hydrogen source to produce hydrogen through the reaction of water-glycerol solution decomposition using NiO/zeolite catalyst under microwave-assisted catalytic conditions. The research found that the optimal conditions resulted in a conversion rate of up to 96.67% and a hydrogen production of 73.5%, indicating the potential of microwave-assisted catalytic irradiation of glycerol for H-2 production from aqueous glycerol solution.
