Analyzing the seismic attributes, structural and petrophysical analyses of the Lower Goru Formation: A case study from Middle Indus Basin Pakistan

Fode Tounkara et al.

Summary: The purpose of this research is to examine the structures and fluid properties of the Lower Goru Formation and identify hydrocarbon-prone areas using seismic attributes analysis. Structural analysis was conducted through horizon and fault interpretation, and mapping was performed on the C-Interval of the Lower Goru Formation. Hydrocarbon zones were identified through attribute and petrophysical analysis. The integrated approach of seismic interpretation, attribute analysis, spectral decomposition, and petrophysical analysis provided a better understanding of the geological structure and features. The research findings indicate the presence of faults and favorable reservoir conditions in the Sawan area. The results will be valuable for future exploration and development.

Seismic driven reservoir classification using advanced machine learning algorithms: A case study from the Lower Ranikot/Khadro sandstone gas reservoir, Kirthar Fold Belt, Lower Indus Basin, Pakistan

Umar Manzoor et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the characterization of a Paleocene sandstone gas reservoir in lower Indus Basin, Pakistan. By combining seismic attributes, petrophysical properties, well logs, and facies data sets with advanced machine learning algorithms, the challenges of characterizing thin sand bed reservoirs have been successfully addressed.
