Identifying value-creating aspects in luxury hotel services via third-party online reviews: a cross-cultural study

Summary: This study aims to identify critical value-creating elements of luxury services through online ratings and reviews, as well as examine cultural differences among tourists from different European regions. The findings suggest that product and physical evidence are crucial in luxury hotels, with cultural variations in review ratings. Eastern and Northern Europeans tend to give higher ratings, while preferences differ in terms of what aspects they prioritize in their reviews. Cultural differences have implications for luxury services segmentation, social media management, service marketing mix development, and hotel promotion.
