In living color? Understanding the importance of color complexity in listing images for accommodation sharing

Stuart J. Barnes

Summary: The impact of color psychology on behavior has been well-established in tangible products and advertising, but there has been limited research on the use of color combinations in the context of services. This paper examines the small palette principle and visual coherence perspective in the setting of accommodation sharing. The findings provide support for the small palette principle and suggest that accommodation hosts should pay attention to the color features of their listing images in order to increase patronage.

Visit Intention Via Mobile App Usage in Pandemic Alleviation: Influences of Regulatory Focus and Risk

Xiao (Shannon) Yi et al.

Summary: This study explores the relationship between pandemic alleviation and tourists' intention to visit tourist and hospitality sites. It finds that tourists' regulatory focus affects their risk perception in visiting these sites during the stage of pandemic alleviation through mobile app usage. The results show an increasing intention to engage in on-site hospitality and tourism activities during the alleviating period, especially for promotion-focused tourists. The experimental study also confirms that risk perception mediates the relationship between pandemic alleviation and visit intention. This research provides valuable insights for facilitating the recovery of the travel and hospitality industry.
