Aluminum-doped zinc oxide nanorods and methyl alcohol gas sensor application

Yi-Hsing Liu et al.

Summary: This paper mainly discusses the properties of aluminum-doped zinc oxide nanorods grown by hydrothermal method with low temperature. The conductive properties of the zinc oxide nanorods were changed by adding chemical substances, and their surface morphology, element content, internal structure, and optical properties were further observed. The experimental results showed that, under methyl alcohol surroundings, the aluminum-doped zinc oxide nanorods sensor was more sensitive than the pure zinc oxide nanorods sensor.

Fabrication and characterization of homostructured photodiodes with Li-doped ZnO nanorods

Chiung-Hsien Huang et al.

Summary: This study investigated ultraviolet (UV) photodiodes with homogeneous zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorods. Li-doped ZnO nanorods were synthesized and stacked onto an aluminum zinc oxide film to form a p-n homojunction. Different sized homostructured photodiodes were examined for their photo-electronic properties. The results showed that the device with a 1 x 1 mm² area exhibited significantly better photovoltaic property under 380 nm UV illumination and 5 V applied bias.

Yen-Lin Chu et al.

Summary: In this study, ultraviolet photodetectors were fabricated from zinc oxide and Ga-doped zinc oxide nanostructures on a Corning glass substrate using a simple wet chemical solution method at room temperature. The Ga-doped zinc oxide PDs exhibited higher photoresponsivity and stability compared to the undoped zinc oxide PDs, showing good electrical performance. The nanosheet structures provided a large surface-area-to-volume ratio, which is crucial for UV sensing.
