New electropolymerized triphenylamine polymer films and excellent multifunctional electrochromic energy storage system materials with real-time monitoring of energy storage status

Qidi Huang et al.

Summary: This study designs and synthesizes three novel triphenylamine-based organic monomers to obtain three polymer films with different color switching abilities by electrochemical polymerization. The polymer pPh-4TPA shows a large optical contrast of 80.5% and a high coloration efficiency of 277.21 cm2.C-1 in the visible region, as well as high specific capacitance, high capacity, and excellent rate performance. The assembled asymmetric electrochromic energy storage devices based on pPh-4TPA polymer films exhibit the highest energy and power densities among pure organic electrochromic pseudocapacitors reported, along with reversible color changes during charging and discharging.

Recovery of Electrochemical Properties of Polyaniline-Based Multilayer Films with Improved Electrochemical Stability

Putri B. D. Firda et al.

Summary: Owing to its unique structure and redox properties, polyaniline (PANI) has various applications, but its low stability affects device performance. In this study, PANI-based multilayer films were developed with improved chemical and electrochemical stability. The electroactivity and conductivity of PANI-based films can be reactivated using an acidic solution, enhancing their performance. Furthermore, PANI multilayer films for ammonia sensors can be successfully restored after the reactivation process.
