Highly efficient intumescent flame retardant coating for ABS: Preparation and application

Jia Chen et al.

Summary: The flame retardancy of ABS was greatly enhanced by a highly efficient intumescent flame retardant coating, which improved the oxygen index value, UL-94 rating, and reduced the heat release rate. The flame retardant coating showed synergistic flame retardancy in both gas phase and condensed phase, while also protecting the intrinsic mechanical properties of ABS.
