Active Basal Plane Catalytic Activity via Interfacial Engineering for a Finely Tunable Conducting Polymer/MoS2 Hydrogen Evolution Reaction Multilayer Structure

Linan Xu et al.

Summary: Fixation of the catalyst interface is crucial for practical applications, and interfacial engineering through a layer-by-layer strategy can significantly impact the catalytic performance of MoS2 by facilitating charge transfer and strong electronic interactions. Using polypyrrole as a binding agent in the assembly demonstrates increased catalytic efficacy compared to polyaniline. The optimized catalytic activity is achieved with 16 assembly cycles, showing the potential for scalable and controlled electrocatalysts at the interface.

Facile fabrication of molybdenum compounds (Mo2C, MoP and MoS2) nanoclusters supported on N-doped reduced graphene oxide for highly efficient hydrogen evolution reaction over broad pH range

Yuelong Xu et al.

Summary: In this study, defect-rich nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide (RGO) with molybdenum (Mo)-based compound loading was designed using a two-step method, showing excellent and durable electrocatalytic performance over a broad pH range. The presence of defects was confirmed through transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) results, while theoretical analysis demonstrated an efficient synergetic effect between RGO and Mo-based compounds on catalytic activity. This work provides insights for the development of new catalysts for water splitting to produce hydrogen.
