The impact of changes in nursing practicum caused by COVID-19 pandemic on new graduate nurses

Summary: This study investigated the status of nursing practicum at nursing universities before and during the COVID-19 pandemic, and explored the relationship between difficulties in nursing tasks, work readiness, reality shock, and organizational socialization among new graduate nurses with nursing practicum experience during this pandemic. The findings suggest that efforts to enhance the adaptation of new graduate nurses in the clinical field could prevent potential problems caused by the restrictions and absence of clinical practicum.

Adaptation and psychometric analysis of the Czech version of the Nurse Competence Scale

Summary: This study evaluated the negative impacts of COVID-19 on clinical learning among midwifery and nursing undergraduate students at Jimma University in southwest Ethiopia. Efforts to understand clinical learning objectives and the use of multimedia were also suggested as compensation mechanisms to mitigate the pandemic's long-term effects on producing competent midwives and nurses.
