Intra-individual variance of bilateral femoro-tibial leg rotation: a CT study of 105 healthy subjects

Christian Ries et al.

Summary: This study aimed to establish side-specific reference values of lower limb rotation using CT angiographies in a large healthy sample. Significant differences were found between right and left lower limbs, with the overall leg rotation showing a mean external rotation of 5.1 degrees more on the right side. Femoral version was the only variable that differed between male and female subjects, with high correlation coefficients found among all measurements.
