Humidification-dehumidification desalination process: Performance evaluation and improvement through experimental and numerical methods

Damson Kaunga et al.

Summary: The study introduces a mechanistic model for the HDH desalination process with improved prediction accuracy compared to conventional models. Results show that the recovery ratio of the system increases with feed water temperature and decreases with water-to-air flow ratio. Additionally, freshwater productivity increases with an increasing packing's specific area, and doubling of dehumidifiers' surface area improves the recovery ratio by 16%.

Experimental Study on a Closed-Cycle Humidification and Dehumidification System for Treating Wastewater Containing High Concentrations of Inorganic Salts and Organic Matter

Jun Liu et al.

Summary: The experiment studied a system for treating industrial wastewater containing high concentrations of inorganic salts and organic matter. The system effectively reduced pollutants in the wastewater and obtained dehydrated sludge. The system can successfully treat industrial wastewater with high levels of inorganic salts and organic matter.
