Healthcare Workers' SARS-CoV-2 Omicron Variant Uncertainty-Related Stress, Resilience, and Coping Strategies during the First Week of the World Health Organization's Alert

Summary: The study aimed to assess the uncertainties, worries, resilience, and coping strategies of healthcare workers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding the Omicron variant. The findings showed a negative correlation between resilient coping and stress, and a positive correlation between intolerance of uncertainty and stress. Increased stress levels were associated with a significant decrease in resilient coping scores. Coping by following healthcare authorities' preventative instructions and using the WHO website as a source of information was linked to a significant increase in resilient coping.

A cross-sectional study design limited the ability to differentiate between preexisting and emerging psychological symptoms.
