Current research and clinical trends in rosacea pathogenesis

Xi-Min Hu et al.

Summary: This study conducted visual bibliometric analysis and data mining to analyze and summarize the pathogenesis of rosacea. The results revealed significant developments in immunology, microbiology, genetics, skin barriers, and neurogenetics in understanding rosacea pathogenesis, with a particular focus on immune and microbiological aspects. Keyword visualization and data analysis also identified cell-cell interactions, gene-gene or gene-environment interactions, and neurological mechanisms associated with rosacea pathogenesis. However, limitations of bibliometrics and reliance on research and retrospective studies were acknowledged. Future research should focus on genomic and neurogenic evidence supported by a better understanding of risks and comorbidities to guide clinical practice.

Excessive cleansing: an underestimating risk factor of rosacea in Chinese population

Guo Li et al.

Summary: In the Chinese population, excessive cleansing habits were significant risk factors for the incidence and progression of rosacea. High frequency and large amount of cleansers were positively correlated with the onset of rosacea, while deep cleansing habits presented higher risks. Patients with deep cleansing preferences were more prone to certain initial symptoms and progression of rosacea.
