Prevalence and correlates of early sexual initiation among Brazilian adolescents

Summary: The study assessed early sexual initiation among Brazilian adolescents aged 12-14 and found that factors such as age, mother's schooling, smoking, alcohol consumption, and Tanner Stages were associated with early sexual initiation in both boys and girls. Girls were also influenced by living with both parents, common mental disorders, and age at menarche, while boys were correlated with race and type of school in relation to early sexual initiation.
