The Predictive Role of Maternal Biological Markers and Inflammatory Scores NLR, PLR, MLR, SII, and SIRI for the Risk of Preterm Delivery

Ingrid Hrubaru et al.

Summary: Preterm birth is a major cause of infant mortality and morbidity in many countries. This research aimed to evaluate the predictive value of various inflammatory markers for premature delivery. The results showed that NLR, dNLR, PLR, and MLR had significant predictive value, with NLR having the highest sensitivity and AUC value among the tested scores. Further clinical studies are needed to confirm these results and improve therapeutic approaches for reducing premature births.

Predictive Value of the Hemoglobin-Albumin- Lymphocyte-Platelet (HALP) Index on the Oncological Outcomes of Locally Advanced Cervical Cancer Patients

Kittinun Leetanaporn et al.

Summary: This study found that the HALP inflammatory index can serve as an independent predictor of oncological outcomes in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer. Adding the HALP index to the predictive model improves accuracy.

Second-trimester and third-trimester maternal lipid profiles significantly correlated to LGA and macrosomia

Fangfang Xi et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the association between lipid profiles in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy and fetal birth weight. The findings suggest that high triglyceride and low high-density lipoprotein levels during the third trimester may increase the risk of large-for-gestational-age infants and macrosomia. Strategies to lower triglyceride levels in women of reproductive age may help reduce the incidence of large-for-gestational-age infants and macrosomia in the future.

Coping Strategies and Health-Related Quality of Life in Pregnant Women with SARS-CoV-2 Infection

Madalina Timircan et al.

Summary: The study found that unemployed pregnant women living in poverty in rural areas were more likely to be infected with SARS-CoV-2 during pregnancy, and faced higher levels of anxiety and depression. Interestingly, COVID-19 facilities had significantly lower technical competence scores.
