Transport of silver nanoparticles coated with polyvinylpyrrolidone of various molecular sizes in porous media: Interplay of polymeric coatings and chemically heterogeneous surfaces

Kunkun Wang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the transport and retention of AgNPs capped with PVP of different molecular weights in porous media. It was found that higher molecular weight PVP provided stronger steric effect and electrostatic repulsive forces among PVP-AgNPs, enhancing their mobility. The results shed light on the interplay between capping agents and surface heterogeneity in the transport of AgNPs in porous media.

Monitoring and Optimisation of Ag Nanoparticle Spray-Coating on Textiles

Sara Trabucco et al.

Summary: An automatic lab-scaled spray-coating machine was used to deposit silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) on textiles to create antibacterial fabric. The deposition efficiency was found to be enhanced by increasing spray pressure and reduced by increasing the number of operating sprays, indicating that a single spray system is more efficient. Far-field AgNPs emission showed a slight increase in particle concentration, suggesting that the spray-coating process is not a critical source of worker exposure under experimental conditions.
