Summary: This study compared therapist-guided and unguided internet-based CBT with face-to-face CBT for adults with OCD. The findings suggest that therapist-guided internet-based CBT could be a cost-effective alternative to face-to-face CBT, while unguided internet-based CBT may be less effective.

Implementing therapist-guided internet-delivered cognitive behaviour therapy for obsessive-compulsive disorder in the UK's IAPT programme: A pilot trial

Oskar Flygare et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the effectiveness of evidence-based internet-delivered cognitive behaviour therapy (ICBT) for patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The results showed that ICBT was associated with significant reductions in self-reported OCD symptoms, anxiety, and depression, as well as improvements in functional impairment. Higher rates of recovery and improvement were observed among patients who completed an adequate amount of treatment.

Empirically defining treatment response and remission in body dysmorphic disorder

Lorena Fernandez de la Cruz et al.

Summary: Pooling data from three randomized controlled trials, this study found that a BDD-YBOCS reduction >30% was the best predictor of treatment response, while a BDD-YBOCS score <=16 post-treatment was the best predictor of full or partial symptom remission in body dysmorphic disorder. These results provide operational definitions for response and remission in BDD.
