Long non-coding RNA LINC01347 suppresses trophoblast cell migration, invasion and EMT by regulating miR-101-3p/PTEN/AKT axis

Xiahui Zhang et al.

Summary: Recurrent miscarriage (RM) is a common complication of pregnancy that is closely related to gene mutation. This study found that the expression of long non-coding RNA LINC01347 (LINC01347) was increased in the serum of patients with recurrent abortion, suggesting it could be a potential marker for early diagnosis. Further experiments showed that LINC01347 affects the migration ability and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) processes of trophoblast cells through the miR-101-3p/PTEN/AKT axis. Targeting LINC01347 may be a strategy to improve RM.

TSPAN1 promotes autophagy flux and mediates cooperation between WNT-CTNNB1 signaling and autophagy via the MIR454-FAM83A-TSPAN1 axis in pancreatic cancer

Cefan Zhou et al.

Summary: Pancreatic cancer is characterized by poor prognosis and limited therapeutic options, driving the urgent need for new therapeutic targets. This study identified TSPAN1 as an upregulated gene in pancreatic cancer, correlated with poor patient survival, and demonstrated its role in regulating autophagy. Additionally, the study revealed that TSPAN1 is regulated by MIR454-FAM83A and plays a role in the proliferation of pancreatic cancer cells.

Regulation and function of autophagy in pancreatic cancer

Jingbo Li et al.

Summary: Autophagy is a degradation system that can remove abnormal proteins and damaged organelles, with impaired autophagy being a pathological feature of diseases like pancreatic cancer. Dysfunctional autophagy plays a complex role in pancreatic tumor biology, with targeting selective autophagy potentially reducing side effects of drugs.

Lnc-PFAR facilitates autophagy and exacerbates pancreatic fibrosis by reducing pre-miR-141 maturation in chronic pancreatitis

Tao Zhang et al.

Summary: A novel lncRNA named Lnc-PFAR was found highly expressed in CP tissues, facilitating PSCs activation and pancreatic fibrosis through RB1CC1-induced autophagy. The study proposes Lnc-PFAR as a promising therapeutic target for the development of pancreatic fibrosis in clinical settings.

Silencing of CASC8 inhibits non-small cell lung cancer cells function and promotes sensitivity to osimertinib via FOXM1

Xizi Jiang et al.

Summary: The study identified CASC8 as a cancer susceptibility gene closely related to lung cancer, with high expression associated with poor prognosis in patients with lung adenocarcinoma. Silencing CASC8 inhibited proliferation, migration, and invasion in non-small cell lung cancer cell lines, and also promoted sensitivity to osimertinib through FOXM1. This pathway may offer new treatment options for lung cancer patients resistant to targeted therapies.
