Evaluation of the Value of Waist Circumference and Metabolomics in the Estimation of Visceral Adipose Tissue

Sebastiaan C. Boone et al.

Summary: This study showed that estimation of visceral adipose tissue (VAT) can be improved by incorporating waist circumference but not by metabolite measurements. Adding waist circumference and other anthropometric measurements to prediction models increased the accuracy of VAT estimation.

The association of body composition with abdominal aortic aneurysm growth after endovascular aneurysm repair

Ge Hu et al.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the relationship between body composition (BC) and postoperative abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) progression. The results showed that muscle imaging features are associated with volume change of postoperative aneurysms and can be used for early prediction, while the relationship between adipose tissue and AAA growth is unclear.

Sex-specific normal values and determinants of infrarenal abdominal aortic diameter among non-aneurysmal elderly population

Fang Zhu et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the distribution of infrarenal abdominal aortic diameters (IAD) among non-aneurysmal elderly population and their associations with traditional cardiovascular risk factors. Results showed a non-linear relationship between age and IAD, with waist circumference and blood pressure being associated with larger diameters. Additionally, several cardiovascular risk factors had different associations with IAD in men and women.
