The constitutive behavior and dissociation effect of hydrate-bearing sediment within a granular thermodynamic framework

Bing Bai et al.

Summary: A multiphase constitutive model of hydrate-bearing sediment is established within a granular thermodynamic framework, considering the energy dissipation caused by hydrate dissociation and granular rearrangement at the micro level. This model captures the complex behavior of the sediment by incorporating the nonlinear expression of bonding stress, considering the relative velocities of the gas and liquid phases, and introducing the coupling effect of heat conduction.

Development and research of triangle-filter convolution neural network for fuel reloading optimization of block-type HTGRs

Zhan Li et al.

Summary: The problem of fuel reloading optimization requires searching for the optimal core configuration in a huge solution space. The use of meta-heuristic algorithms and artificial neural networks has been effective in updating optimization solutions and evaluating core configurations respectively, but there is little research on the application of convolution neural networks. Aiming to solve the problems in fuel reloading optimization for block-type HTGRs, triangle-filter convolution neural networks are developed and applied with genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization. The results show that the TFCNNs can accurately predict optimization parameters and have a faster calculation time compared to DRAGON V4 program and a higher ratio of feasible solutions compared to BP-ANNs.

Kinematics Model Optimization Algorithm for Six Degrees of Freedom Parallel Platform

Mingzhe Liu et al.

Summary: The kinematics model of the six-degree-of-freedom parallel platform was established, and the kinematics forward solution algorithm based on Newton-Raphson iteration was studied. In order to improve the real-time performance of the parallel platform control system, a multivariate polynomial regression kinematics forward solution algorithm is proposed in this paper. The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified by simulation tests and physical tests.

From classical thermodynamics to phase-field method

Long-Qing Chen et al.

Summary: The article focuses on the phase-field method as a density-based computational method for modeling and predicting temporal microstructure and property evolution during materials processes. It discusses the connections between phase-field equations and classical thermodynamics, as well as the relationships of continuum phase-field equations at different levels. Additionally, it examines the contributions of long-range interactions to domain structure evolution during phase transformations.

Numerical study on cavitation-vortex-noise correlation mechanism and dynamic mode decomposition of a hydrofoil

Chen Yang et al.

Summary: In this study, a large eddy simulation model coupled with the modified Schnerr-Sauer cavitation model was used to numerically simulate the unsteady cavitation and noncavitation flow of a three-dimensional NACA66 hydrofoil under different operating conditions. The results indicate that the magnitude of the cavitation number plays a decisive role in the hydrofoil's cavitation quasiperiodic phenomenon.

Quadruple and Sextuple Cross-Coupled SRAM Cell Designs With Optimized Overhead for Reliable Applications

Aibin Yan et al.

Summary: This paper proposes two SRAM cells, QCCS and SCCS, for improving the vulnerability to soft errors. The QCCS cell achieves self-recoverability from SNUs at low cost, while the SCCS cell robustly keeps stored values by constructing a large error-interceptive feedback loop. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed cells, which outperform state-of-the-art hardened cells in terms of access time, power dissipation, and silicon area overhead.

Adaptive control of time delay teleoperation system with uncertain dynamics

Siyu Lu et al.

Summary: In this paper, a bilateral adaptive control method based on PEB control structure is proposed to study the uncertainty of dynamic parameters and time delay. The stability and tracking performances of the closed-loop constant time delay teleoperation system are analyzed using Lyapunov stability theory. The simulation results show that the proposed method has good control performance.

Summary: This study proposes a method using response surface methodology (RSM) and artificial neural network (ANN) to optimize the design of fin-tube heat exchangers (FTHEs) with vortex generators (VGs). The results show that ANN outperforms RSM in predicting the Nusselt number and the friction factor.

Fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics of microchannel heat sinks with different groove shapes

Qifeng Zhu et al.

Summary: Different groove shapes were studied to improve the overall performance of microchannel heat sinks, with the conclusion that arranging grooves on channel sidewalls can greatly enhance performance. Triangular grooves were found to be the optimal structure within a certain range of Reynolds numbers, while water-droplet shaped grooves offered significant advantages at higher Reynolds numbers.

Experimental study on vertical water entry of twin spheres side-by-side

Xu Wang et al.

Summary: The experiment investigates the cavity dynamics and trajectories of twin spheres vertically entering water side-by-side at different time intervals and lateral distances. The results show that the interaction between the spheres changes with the increase of time interval and lateral distance, affecting the motion characteristics of the second water-entry sphere.
