Accreditation Approaches for Professional Education Programs: Towards Best Practice

Summary: This study aimed to rapidly appraise the effectiveness, impact, and feasibility of different accreditation approaches for professional education programs. The literature showed a transition from input- and process-based models to outcomes-based models in recent years. However, there is limited empirical evidence for the relative effectiveness of different accreditation approaches.

Summary: Modern medicine is seen as a product of colonialism, with the suggestion to reexamine its colonial roots through a decolonial perspective. Decolonial praxis involves becoming aware of one's position in the colonial power matrix and taking action to challenge traditional theories and power structures in order to dismantle oppressive colonial systems.
