Third-harmonic-assisted four-wave mixing in a chip-based microresonator frequency comb generation

Hao Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a new scheme to generate platicon using third-harmonic generation, and demonstrates that single or multiple platicons can be obtained by changing the third-harmonic nonlinear coupling strength and phase matching condition.

Optical frequency combs in dispersion-controlled doubly resonant second-harmonic generation

I. O. L. A. N. D. A. Ricciardi et al.

Summary: We report on the experimental realization and systematic study of optical frequency comb generation in doubly resonant intracavity second harmonic generation. By controlling the resonance condition and laser detuning, we observe steady comb emission and identify the significant role of thermal effects in comb dynamics. Numerical simulations agree well with experimental observations. This study provides a framework for exploring the dynamics of doubly resonant second harmonic generation systems and aids in the design of chip-scale comb generators.

Origin, bifurcation structure and stability of localized states in Kerr dispersive optical cavities

P. Parra-Rivas et al.

Summary: Localized coherent structures can form in externally driven dispersive optical cavities with a Kerr-type non-linearity, described by the Lugiato-Lefever (LL) equation. The formation, stability, and bifurcation structure of these structures are reviewed, focusing on anomalous and normal second-order dispersion regimes. Different bifurcation structures are observed in each regime, with effects of third-order dispersion and various dynamical regimes also discussed.

Vectorial dark dissipative solitons in Kerr resonators

B. Kostet et al.

Summary: We report the existence of vectorial dark dissipative solitons in optical cavities under the influence of a coherently injected beam. We show that the vectorial front locking mechanism can stabilize these structures, which differ in their temporal duration and polarization state. By constructing a heteroclinic snaking bifurcation diagram, we demonstrate evidence of multistability within a finite range of the control parameter.
