RING 3.0: fast generation of probabilistic residue interaction networks from structural ensembles

Damiano Clementel et al.

Summary: Residue interaction networks (RINs) have been proven effective in analyzing complex systems as an alternative to coordinate data. The new RING 3.0 version extends the previous functionality by supporting mmCIF format, providing typed interactions for the entire PDB chemical component dictionary, and employing probabilistic graphs for analyzing structural data. The web interface has also been expanded to enhance visualization and interactivity.

Immunoinformatics-Aided Analysis of RSV Fusion and Attachment Glycoproteins to Design a Potent Multi-Epitope Vaccine

Hamza Arshad Dar et al.

Summary: This study designed and evaluated a potential multi-epitope vaccine against RSV using immunoinformatics. The vaccine was found to be stable, non-allergenic, flexible, and antigenic. Computational immune simulation results indicated that the vaccine could generate a high titer of antibodies and effector T-cells, making it a promising candidate for stimulating humoral and cellular responses against RSV infection.

In silico designing of a multi-epitope vaccine against Burkholderia pseudomallei: reverse vaccinology and immunoinformatics

Muhammad Shahab et al.

Summary: In this study, an in silico approach was used to design a multi-epitope subunit vaccine peptide for Burkholderia pseudomallei, a drug-resistant infectious agent causing severe melioidosis. The designed vaccine was found to be antigenic, soluble, stable, nonallergenic, and capable of stimulating humoral and cell-mediated immune responses. In silico immune simulations showed promising results, suggesting that this approach could be a breakthrough in designing effective vaccines against B. pseudomallei globally.

SARS-CoV-2 sensing by RIG-I and MDA5 links epithelial infection to macrophage inflammation

Lucy G. Thorne et al.

Summary: SARS-CoV-2 infection leads to broad-spectrum immunopathological diseases, exacerbated by inflammatory co-morbidities. Research shows that the virus replicates rapidly in lung epithelial cells and triggers a robust innate immune response, affecting macrophage activation through inflammatory mediators produced during infection. Further exacerbation of the local inflammatory environment occurs when macrophages or epithelial cells are primed with exogenous inflammatory stimuli.

An immunoinformatics approach to design a multi-epitope vaccine against Mycobacterium tuberculosis exploiting secreted exosome proteins

Rahul Sharma et al.

Summary: This study developed a multi-epitope vaccine with wide population coverage and the ability to compensate for genetic variations, by selecting antigenic, non-allergenic, and non-toxic B-cell, HTL, and CTL epitopes as vaccine constructs. The designed vaccine showed safe usage and a high probability of activating key immune regulators in in silico immunization assays. Further validation through in vitro and in vivo assays is needed to meet the global demand for a more effective anti-tuberculosis vaccine.
