Analysis of pregnancy outcomes in patients with recurrent implantation failure complicated with chronic endometritis

Jie Li et al.

Summary: Chronic endometritis (CE) reduces uterine receptivity and negatively affects reproductive outcomes for IVF-ET patients, especially those with recurrent implantation failure (RIF). Antibiotic and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy significantly improves pregnancy outcomes for RIF patients with CE negative conversion in FET cycle.

Precision Medicine for Chronic Endometritis: Computer-Aided Diagnosis Using Deep Learning Model

Masaya Mihara et al.

Summary: Chronic endometritis (CE) is a mucosal disorder characterized by the infiltration of CD138(+) endometrial stromal plasmacytes (ESPC) and is associated with various reproductive complications. The current diagnostic methods, such as endometrial biopsy and immunohistochemistry, have limitations and potential for misdiagnosis. The use of fluid hysteroscopy, novel immunohistochemistry techniques, and deep learning models may improve the accuracy and reliability of CE diagnosis.

Summary: Changes in the female genital tract microbiome are related to gynecological and obstetrical pathologies, but the influence of endometrial bacterial communities on human reproduction is still debated. Summary: This study found that endometrial plasma cells are present in half of the general infertile population, but do not predict implantation, clinical pregnancy, clinical pregnancy loss, or live birth rates at low levels.

MUM-1 immunohistochemistry has high accuracy and reliability in the diagnosis of chronic endometritis: a multi-centre comparative study with CD-138 immunostaining

Ettore Cicinelli et al.

Summary: The study indicates that IHC for MUM-1 and CD-138 have similar accuracy in detecting endometrial stromal plasma cells. However, MUM-1 shows higher reliability in the paired comparison of individual samples. Therefore, MUM-1 may be a novel and promising add-on technique for CE diagnosis.

The menstrual cycle phase impacts the detection of plasma cells and the diagnosis of chronic endometritis in endometrial biopsy specimens

Emily Ryan et al.

Summary: This retrospective cohort study found that the menstrual cycle phase has an impact on the detection of plasma cells. Plasma cells are more likely to be found in the follicular phase compared with the luteal phase, and in the early follicular phase compared with the late follicular phase. The density of plasma cells is also higher in the follicular phase group. Further studies are needed to determine the optimal timing of biopsy for standardized diagnosis.

Summary: Reproductive immunology has become an increasingly important discipline in recent years, with many reproductive failures attributed to abnormal expression of immunological factors. However, there is still limited understanding of the variability and function of immune cells in the genital tract, as well as misconceptions about the immunological rejection and tolerance of embryos.

Summary: This study compared the impact of germ oriented antibiotic therapy and no treatment on chronic endometritis (CE), showing that antibiotic therapy significantly improved the cure rate of CE, further confirming the infectious nature of CE.

Clinico-pathological significance of TCGA classification and SWI/SNF proteins expression in undifferentiated/dedifferentiated endometrial carcinoma: A possible prognostic risk stratification

Angela Santoro et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the clinico-pathological significance of TCGA molecular groups and SWI/SNF protein expression in undifferentiated/dedifferentiated endometrial carcinoma (UEC/DDEC). The findings suggest that POLE-mutant cases exhibit a good prognosis, while SWI/SNF-deficient cases have a poor prognosis. Other TCGA molecular subtypes appear to have an intermediate biological behavior.

Depth of Stromal Invasion as the Most Prognostically Relevant Regression System in Locally Advanced Cervical Cancer after Neoadjuvant Treatment: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Grading

Gian Franco Zannoni et al.

Summary: The prognostic value of pathological criteria for categorizing the response in cervical cancer after neoadjuvant therapy was assessed through a systematic review and meta-analysis. It was found that dichotomizing the pathological response as < vs. > 3 mm stromal invasion is more prognostically valuable than dichotomizing as complete response vs. any residual. Further studies are necessary to evaluate other systems.
